General information

Our home is in the UK but we fell in love with the Greek Islands many years ago and have been charmed by the tranquil and relaxing environment around Makrigialos and this less well known part of Crete.

Here we unwind from the pressures of work and the stresses of everyday living. With plenty of space and a huge pool for happy children to enjoy, parents are guaranteed to feel good too. You will leave Makrigialos feeling invigorated and full of zest.

Our commitment is to provide our guests with a friendly accessible service to a holiday that is refreshingly different from the usual holiday ‘package’ or typical Greek self-catering accommodation. We want you to feel at home and so we have designed our villas around al fresco living with lots of balcony space and everything you need within easy reach.

Customer feedback is very welcome and each villa has its own guest book for comments and suggestions, which we then post to our website. We hope that staying in our luxury villas is a holiday experience you will want to repeat.

Positive about the environment

Our villas have solar reflective glass to keep the villas as cool as possible during sunny days. Electrics are operated by a keyfob (not fridge/freezer) so reducing energy use. State of the art air-conditioning means the room is cool in a matter of minutes.

Crete rarely experiences water shortages or cuts, but if they should happen our villas have large water tanks to tide you over. As we are on an island we always try to conserve water. Water from the tap is absolutely safe and drinkable. It has a higher mineral content than in the UK so if it is not to your taste, bottled water is available everywhere (and we have large fridge/freezers to keep it cool).
